HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The families of 11 people killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings say the families will not directly benefit from a Tim McGraw concert planned for July 17 in Hartford, Connecticut. McGraw has said the concert will benefit Sandy Hook Promise, an advocacy group that involves the families of several victims that aims for tighter restrictions on guns and protecting children from gun violence. The 11 families say they want to clarify for the donors to Sandy Hook Promise who might believe they are directly supporting families involved in the shootings. The 11 families say they are not taking a position on gun control.
