NASHVILLE (AP) — Maddie and Tae made fun of stereotypes in country music with “Girl In A Country Song.” The next thing they’d love to blow away: synthesized beats. Maddie Marlow says she hates fake drums and it’s time to bring back real ones. Their song “Fly” is a ballad with acoustic guitars and they nearly wore themselves out before releasing that. Tae Dye says they were trying to be machines in coming up with a song that would live up to “Girl In A Country Song” until they realized they should just put out something they believe in. Maddie and Tae’s debut album, “Start Here,” is out now.
