PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) — Many are called, few are chosen. And so it was for Kid Rock and his effort to fulfill his duty as a citizen. The rock star was called for jury duty in suburban Detroit — but he ended up being excused from actually serving. The Detroit Free Press reports Kid Rock was among 160 potential jurors yesterday for a murder trial at Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac, Michigan. When called on to answer questions, he said he’d be likely to give police “the benefit of the doubt” at the trial. He noted he has friends in law enforcement and knows the assistant prosecutor handling the case.
