NASHVILLE (AP) — Some students at Middle Tennessee State University might get assigned textbook readings. The students in the class “The Life and Music of George Jones” are listening intently to “He Stopped Loving Her Today.” The Nashville Tennessean reports songwriter Odie Blackmon is teaching the course about Jones’ life and music for the third time with the current fall semester. Yeah, but how do students use that in the real world? Several previous students now lead tours at the George Jones Museum in Nashville, and future students will help work on the marketing for a George Jones tribute album.
