NASHVILLE (AP) – Lots of artists who have successful debut albums suddenly feel the heat when it comes to making their second ones. It’s not so much for Sam Hunt. He says when he was making “Montevallo,” a lot of people with more experience than he has would tell him what he could and could not do in terms of making music. Hunt says that can mess with your head. Now that he’s an established act, Hunt says the pressure is less because he has more freedom to do what he wants. That’s not to say Hunt feels zero pressure. He says he still wants to get better as a writer and a singer.
