SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) — The judge who sealed the divorce documents for Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert defends the decision by saying they are entertainers and not “guardians of the public trust.” The Oklahoman quotes Pottawatomie County Associate District Judge John Gardner as saying there’s no legitimate public interest in unsealing the private matters of Shelton and Lambert. Gardner’s decision drew criticism that Shelton and Lambert got preferential treatment. Gardner is retiring this week.
