NASHVILLE (AP) — The night belonged to Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town at the Country Music Association Awards. Stapleton won male vocalist of the year, new artist of the year and album of the year for “Traveller.” He says he looked out at the audience and saw so many people he wrote songs with and he doesn’t take his wins lightly. Little Big Town won vocal group of the year, and their song “Girl Crush” won single and song of the year. LBT’s Karen Fairchild thanked country radio for playing that song and the gatekeepers for not standing in the way because the fans wanted to hear the song. Luke Bryan was named entertainer of the year and kissed his trophy. Miranda Lambert won female vocalist of the year, and Florida Georgia Line won vocal duo. Maddie and Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” won the music video award.
