Come dressed as your favorite superhero and compete to win the best costume for team or individual winning Hanlon’s Shoes gift certificate. The first 100 to register get a free t-shirt and everyone who raises $100 or more on their fundraising page will also receive a t-shirt.
Heroes medals will be awarded to the first male and first female finishers “Master and Mistress of Disaster” and all age group winners will also receive a prize.
Special fundraising prizes are available for each participant: $100 earns a t-shirt and Red Cross baseball cap, $250 earns you a Red Cross sports bag and $500 or more gets you a Red Cross fleece.
New this year! They are introducing the “Little Heroes Haul” a fun run for kids 10 and under along with an entire family fun activities area. And since October is Fire Safety Month, there will be lots of Red Cross information on how to prevent fires and stay safe in case a fire does break out. Registration for the “Little Heroes Haul” is just $5 and includes the fun run and all activities. Plus they’ll have their own superhero costume contest for the little heroes!
Here are just some of the activities planned in addition to the race:
- Face Painting with Nellie Berkley
- Music and Yoga for kids and family provided by Alicia Mathewson from Sounding Still Wellness and Kristen O’Toole from Kristen O’Toole Yoga
- Family Fire Safety information provided by Lt. Cosmo, Hyannis Fire Department
- A Fire Safety Puppet Show performed by our AmeriCorps members
- ServPro will be there with fire safety tips and promotional items
- These activities will take place from 8:00 – 11:00. Prizes will be awarded to all participants in the Little Heroes Haul ¼ Miler as well as prizes from Ryan Family Amusements for best kid’s costume and for the winning boy and girl.
Nelly’s Suits You on Route 132 in Hyannis will give a 10% discount on all costumes purchased there for the race.
The 3 mile route is a beautiful stroll through waterfront Hyannis starting at the Hyannis Village Green.

Registration is $20 until Thursday, October 16 when the on-line registration ends
$25 for walk up registration.
$5 for Little Heroes Haul registration.
Number pick-up/walk up registration is available on Friday October 17th 1-5 PM at the Chapter House (286 South Street, Hyannis) and at the Village Green on Saturday, October 18th from 8 – 9:30 AM.
All funds raised go directly to support our local chapter’s disaster response services: from a single family house fire to staffing a shelter during a storm, our Red Cross volunteers are ready to serve our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
